1626 darling amp with ecc83

this amp is based on bob danielak  'darling amp ' , there's a lot of version of this amp, original caps coupled,  DC darling, schematic can be found here. .

basiclly i built it based on original caps coupled schematic, but change the driver /preamp from 8532 to ecc83

  tubes accepted date : nov 1942.  got it from jasonscard1 on ebay.

amp is built on 'experiment' chassis with all the switch ,sockets and output trannies already screw to chassis  .

 pre drilled chassis , spraypainted matt white as requested by capten dol 'air'.

 heater and power supply wired first.

 copper bus for easy grounding ,combine from left to  right channel.

 complete wiring  ,all signal line is shielded to avoid hum,

amp complete built on nov2010 , with extra preamp stages for phono signal level.
4 x 12ax7 ,2 x el34 in triode mode,
el34 plate Voltage- 304v both left and right.

 el34 (right) current draw -73mA
el34 (left) current draw -80mA
bias point sit exactly at 300V 80mA  , which is max for the plate dissiption.

5 watt stereo single ended 6v6gt

predrilled chassis,  spray painted and silkscreened.

copper bar for easy grounding.

both output transformer  put inside,  primary and secondary wire need to routed carefully to avoid noise/hum.

8 watt stereo EL34 single ended

picture taken during building the amp from scretch .

using pair of  EL34 bias to the max, plate voltage is 250v , vg1 230v  , preamp plate 200v. the hot class A bias creates a superb sounding amp with my KEF coda 7 speaker.  ot primary impendence  3.5k , secondary  4 & 8 ohm. the power transformer secondary  230-0-230  3.15-0-3.15 .

5 watt single ended 6v6gt stereo intergrated amplifier

amp guts picture , plate voltage for power tubes is 350v , for preamp volt  drop down to 250v. e-caps using 33uf 450v  and 47uf 450v.  UF4007 rectifier  for low noise .

 

 coupling caps from orange drop 715p series (630vdc) for left channel

 using ampohm coupling caps for right channel  . 0.1 uf 630vdc . comes with nice price tag too. rm80++ at farnell malaysia

basic amp  principal ~ using a larger capacitance allows lower frequencies to get through, thus darkening the sound. Using smaller capacitances make it harder for lower frequencies to get through, thus brightening the sound.
this stereo amp using 6v6gt or el34  for power tubes , ecc83 for preamp , also can substitute with ecc82 . complete built on mid of 2009 , been using it on and of since then.
